A brief update to clarify the instructions for downloading and/or streaming/playing our songs.
The links below are primarily intended for you to download our songs to your hard drive (right-click and select "save target as", Mac users should ctrl+click and likewise follow the instructions), this avoids all the buffering silence and break-ups which can otherwise interfere.
If you have a slow connection, they will almost certainly stream/play faster from our soundclick page (where you can vote for them!), although the set of songs on our soundclick page is a different set of recordings, and is updated less frequently than the set below.
We hope you'll enjoy our songs. All music presented on this page is our own original material, our live set also contains versions of many classic Delta and country blues songs.
Recently, We've been posting new songs on our MySpace page, why not check it out? You know it makes sense...
Dirt Shirt (Bainbridge, Kirkham)
New 23/11/05
Named after one of DB's favourite shirts!
We know it's a bit ragged around the edges (see, a shirt joke - maybe not a very good one, but I tried), but it's great fun to play and we hope you'll enjoy this version. Recorded yesterday at Paradise Studio, Sheffburg SY.
Pride Comes Before A Fall Blues (Kirkham)
New 23/11/05
This is a new version, featuring some blistering harp from DB, that Marshall stack really comes in handy sometimes! From the same session as Dirt Shirt (above).
Stumblin's Worried 'bout an 80s Revival Blues (Kirkham)
New 23/11/05
Another new version of an old Twosome standard. From the same session as Dirt Shirt (above).
Andy's Lonesome Road Blues (Kirkham)
18/08/05
This one's also in A, and is another one I've been trying to whip into some kind of shape for a few weeks. It didn't start out with an alternating bass pattern, that's just how it seemed to fit best after several attempts at other tunes. Any road, I hope you like it.
Pride Comes Before a Fall Blues (Kirkham)
15/08/05
I'd been tinkering about with this theme for a couple of months, but all the words just kind of fell into place last week. As ever, I hope you enjoy it. Link now fixed!
Worried Times Blues (Kirkham)
05/03/05
Dedicated to our mate Boz, King of the Cigar Box Guitar, with all our very best wishes.
This is another Stumblin' solo piece. I hope you all, but especially Boz, enjoy it.
Butter My Baguette (French Girls Blues) (Kirkham)
New 16/11/04
Inspired by our recent trip to Cognac. This is a solo effort from Stumblin' Andy K (gtr, vcl & kazoo), but Mousey has worked out a terrific walking bass-line for this number, so a new version with us both playing will be uploaded just as soon as we've got a decent live recording of it. This is the "78rpm" edition, we hope you enjoy it.
Stumblin' Rag (Kirkham)
New 12/09/04
Ever get a tune stuck in your head and been tempted to call in an exorcist to drive it out?
Here's one that's been plaguing Po' Stumblin' for about a week or so.
Please excuse the heavy-breathing sounds!
For anyone who's interested, right-click here for the Stumblin' Rag tablature, to save the tab to your hard-drive.
France Blues (Kirkham, Fouquet)
16/08/04
Stumblin' Andy K dreams of moving to France!
This little ditty was composed a few weeks before we went to the Cognac Blues Passions Festival, and this recording features Nicolas Fouquet on harp. He added the harp track after I sent him an mp3 of the song.
I think you'll agree that he's one of the finest harmonicists you've heard for a good long time.
Merci Nicolas.
Hometown Blues (Salt, Kirkham)
13/08/04
Mousey's homage to our South Yorkshire home, in a new version recorded live at the Cognac Blues Passions Festival (on the Magic Place stage), July 2004.
Devil Got Me Runnin' (Salt, Kirkham)
13/08/04
A new version of Mousey's song, recorded live at the Cognac Blues Passions Festival (on the Magic Place stage), July 2004.
Do Right For Honeyboy Blues (Kirkham, Salt)
13/08/04
Which tells of the night when Stumblin' Andy K met David Honeyboy Edwards.
It's one of those songs that's proved hard to record for some reason, which is why it hasn't appeared here previously. This version was recorded live at the Cognac Blues Passions Festival (on the Magic Place stage), July 2004.
Stumblin's Worried 'bout an 80s Revival Blues (Kirkham, Salt)
20/07/04
A new, live, version of one of our favourites. This version was recorded at a party in July 2004. We love a party with a happy atmosphere! We hope you enjoy it.
Hometown Blues (Salt, Kirkham)
20/07/04
Mousey's latest original song, recorded live at an outdoor party in July 2004.
The feelings he expresses in this number will be familiar to anyone who's lived in Sheffield for any length of time!
Broke Leg Man Blues (Kirkham, Salt)
20/07/04
Another new version of an old "Twosome Standard"! Recorded at the same party as the two songs listed immediately above. We hope you enjoy our new live recordings. We think we sound better live, we hope you agree!
Lonesome Prayer (Kirkham)
While the Mouse is away, this cat's gotta play. A solo effort from Stumblin' Andy K; guitar & vocals. Not a perfect take, but then it never is with me!
This one is respectfully dedicated to Mr. Dan Lange in a spirit of comradeship.
I hope you enjoy it.
Cockroach Blues (Kirkham, Salt)
A new original blues by Stumblin' Andy K; guitar and vocals.
With Bluesmouse providing robust guitar backing.
Devil Got Me Runnin'(Salt, Kirkham)
An original song by Bluesmouse. So that's Charlie Bluesmouse Salt; vocals & slide guitar. Stumblin' Andy K; guitar. This is a mono recording that we made whilst trying out our amplification set-up for future gigs.
Funny Money Blues (Kirkham, Salt)
A new original song by Stumblin' Andy K; guitar and vocals.
With Bluesmouse playing some superb supporting guitar licks.
Waiting List Blues (Kirkham, Salt)
An original song by Stumblin' Andy K; guitar and vocals.
With Mousey providing a sensitive harp backing.
This song was recorded live at our bonfire night gig at the Fat Cat, so there is some extraneous noise.
The StumbleMouse Stomp (Kirkham, Salt)
An instrumental duet by Stumblin' Andy K (guitar) and Charlie Bluesmouse Salt (harp). Inspired by (inter alia) Mr. Craig Ruskey's suggestion of the title, and some of Lovat "Houndog" Fraser's wonderful guitar chording advice.
Stumblin' Along (Kirkham)
A solo instrumental by Stumblin' Andy K (both guitars). Hopefully, we'll be able to work out a version for the two of us to play. We'll post it here as soon as it becomes available.
